The word "wiki" is Hawaiian for "quick". Web wikis are designed to make it easy for viewers to quickly access information via web links, or "hyper-links" within the site.
Broward County Public Schools recently developed a Promethean Wiki. As stated on their home page, it's purpose is to assist all Promethean users in finding answers to frequently asked questions. I've found that this is a great resource and should be used as a primary point of reference.
