Wikimedia Commons is a media file repository making available public domain and freely-licensed educational media content. I have used wikimedia in place of trying to search Google or Bing. I am not impressed by the search results from those two sites regarding educational images. Wikimedia's images can be used in student projects, and in documents. Students can freely download images without water-marks, or copyright issues, which in my opinion is very liberating.
I encourage teachers to look through this media database to get a feel of what they have to offer. Take a look and try it out.
